Performance
Zachary Foster, began his musical studies at the age of seven in his hometown of Downers Grove Illinois. He holds bachelor’s degrees in both Cello Performance and Music Business from Drake University and a master's degree in Cello Performance from the Boston Conservatory. His principal teachers include Rhonda Rider, Ashley Sandor-Sidon, and Tim Archbold. He has shared the stage with members of the Silk Road Ensemble, Tony Ross, Aida Cuevas, and more while also serving as an administrator across both the United States and other countries including China, Austria, and France.
Teaching
Personalized private lessons for students of all levels and ages.
Whether it is picking up the cello for the very first time, or preparing for an audition or performance, guidance is structured for students to fulfill their goals and take joy in the music they make.
Lessons are available via Zoom, FaceTime, or in-person throughout the city of Boston.
Working in the Music Business
As a music administrator, Zachary has worked with musicians and sponsors from all over the world. He has worked in the music division of the Boston Conservatory as the string department assistant and interim administrative coordinator. Over the past several years Zachary has also provided technical, organizational, and social media support for the international music festival Music in the Alps, and several domestic northeastern music festivals. Zachary has also worked closely with Chicagoland school districts for the administration of youth orchestra training and performance.
